Welcome

It is with pride that we welcome the Sintra International Literary Festival (FLIS).

By nature and by history, Sintra is a land of inspiration and writing. For eight days, FLIS brings literature and poetry to venues across the municipality, through a programme that weaves together words, music, the arts and community participation. Poems by pupils from 15 schools, representing our 15 parishes, will be brought together in an exhibition celebrating the creativity and voice of young people.

More than a celebration of books and poetry, this festival is a space for encounter, sharing, reflection and cultural enrichment. By welcoming authors, thinkers and readers, we reaffirm Sintra's commitment to access to culture and to fostering critical thinking.

I invite everyone to discover this unique programme and to immerse themselves in the magic of words. Happy reading, welcome to the municipality of Sintra, and have an excellent Festival.
